The “altar dem deutschen Polizei” – an altar dedicated to the German police – is a photo installation which functions as the backdrop of a performance. The piece was developed in solidarity with a member of the bassocollective who was arrested after a counter demonstration at the G8 summit in Heiligendamm. The altar appears at parties around Berlin and elsewhere. It narrates the story of the arrest and it´s consequences while at the same time raising money for the cost of the incarceration by selling the “Body-of-the-Police-President”.
